Baguette Pizza

Fighting over which pizza to order in. Why not make your own?
Quick, simple, and a great way to get the kids into cooking and trying new veggies.
Tried & Tasted Recipe
  • 2 or 3 baguettes
  • A jar of basil flavoured passata (tomato sauce)
  • 1 clove of garlic, sliced in two
  • Choice of toppings: cooked beef or chicken, pepperoni, mozzarella, mushroom, peppers…
Preheat oven to 200°C
Cut the baguettes into two or three pieces; then cut length-ways. Place on a baking tray, centre-side down, and bake for 5 minutes. This will help crisp up the centre of the baguette and avoid the sauce sinking into it.
Remove from oven and rub the centre of the baguettes with the (cut-side) clove of garlic.
Cover with 2 or 3 tablespoons of passata and your choice of toppings.

Here I used partly cooked pieces of minced beef, green, yellow and red peppers and lots of mozzarella.
Place back in the over for another 5 minutes or until cheese is melted and golden.
